Welcome to ThamesFurs

We're an 18+ roaming furmeet that aims to give a different vibe. Come along and find out what we're about! 🐾

What is ThamesFurs?

ThamesFurs is a furmeet established in 2024, for those looking for a more relaxed furmeet vibe. We're a small team of volunteers who arrange things, but we'd be nothing without our amazing (ever growing) community. We're most active on Telegram, come and say hi!

ThamesFurs is a roaming furmeet, which means we have no set location, and end up meeting in whole bunch of different places. Most meets are in London, but we do try to branch out to other locations along the Thames.

What happens at a meet?

Well, it's different every month! Due to the nature of us being a roaming meet, the activities we offer vary quite a bit between meets.

Whether that be us booking out a cinema for a furry-friendly screening, having a picnic in the park, or exploring a museum together... We're sure you'll find a thing you enjoy here at ThamesFurs!

Who can attend?

ThamesFurs is open to all furries that are aged 18 and over!* There's no requirement to be based locally. All we ask is that you bring a kind, welcoming attitude along with you!

*Although the meets remain SFW in nature, we set this age limit for the comfort of all attendees.

About ThamesFurs

ThamesFurs was created in 2024 to offer an alternative option to existing local furmeets, with the idea of providing a differnet vibe to the other offerings.

We decided to go with a "roaming" furmeet model, allowing us to change the venue we're at on each occasion. This gives us the chance to offer experiences you get less commonly at other furmeets.

Our first meet back in 2024 started as a bowling meet with a group of friends. Since then, we now have over 200 members, and have hosted a range of meets, from things like cinema trips and picnics, to mini golf and trips to the London Zoo.

ThamesFurs is still very much in the "Small Gathering" category, which means the vibe is much more relaxed, and usually a bunch quieter than some of the bigger meets. This makes it ideal if you're not too keen on a loud / busy fixed venue that a lot of other furmeets offer.

We're a small team of volunteers, arranging this meet casually in our spare time. This means we're less huge-frills, and more just a friendly, relaxed bunch. Think of ThamesFurs more of a hangout with a larger-than-usual group of friends!

As we're very much community driven, we're always open to feedback. Whether that is ideas for trips, any criticisms, or just general suggestions - we want to hear them all. You can submit feedback here.

ThamesFurs is operated by a diverse group of people, across a range of backgrounds, gender identities, sexualities and disabilities. We pride ourselves on being as inclusive as possible for our attendees. We want to make sure everyone feels comfortable attending a meet, no matter their diversities. That being said, if you are planning to attend a meet and have any specialist accessibility needs or concern, you are always welcome to reach out to discuss this.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.

Ooh, black and yellow!

Let's shake it up a little.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fursuit?
Not at all. Fursuits are entirely optional, and many attendees do not have a suit. Some events, due to venue restrictions, may not allow fursuits, although we will make this clear when announcing the event. Your fursuit remains your responsibility at all times.
Do I have to register before I come along?
Some of our events require registration, due to venue requirements and/or ticketing purposes. This will be made clear beforehand, both on Telegram and on the website. Events requiring registration will have a big "Register" button before the day. If this button isn't there, registration shouldn't be required, just come along!
Is there a cost to attend?
This depends on the event. A good amount of our meets are totally free! Some events, like bowling, cinema trips, etc. usually require payment. If an event requires payment, we will ensure this is very clear beforehand. Payment is handled in advance by ThamesFurs, so check out the details for the event so you know what to expect.
Can I bring a friend or partner who isn't a furry?
Although the event is aimed at furries, we're aware that sometimes you might want to bring someone who isn't in the fandom along. This is totally fine, as long as they are respectful of the community, are over 18, and follow our rules. In this case, they're welcome to join! If the event is booked/paid, they will need to manage the booking and payment of their own entry, also.
Is there a fursuit lounge / changing area?
Due to the nature of our meets, we often do not have designated fursuit changing facilities. We will, where possible, set up a corner for fursuit storage and changing, but we cannot guarantee this, or the amount of privacy this will provide. Some venues will have a fursuit lounge, which we will ensure is clearly advertised when we do!
Can I attend alone? I'm nervous!
That's not a problem, and totally understandable! It can be a bit daunting heading to a meet where you don't know too many people. While we encourage you to bring your friends, solo attendees are also welcome. We're a welcoming bunch, and will always be happy to have a chat! Our Telegram chat is also a great place to get to know people in advance.

Ban Appeal

In very rare circumstances, we may find ourselves in a position where a ban is required. This may be an Event ban, or a Telegram Chat ban. Event bans can be temporary (for a set number of meets or time) or permanent. Telegram Chat bans are permanent, although you are still able to attend ThamesFurs events.

Should you find yourself the position that you have been banned, you may contact us to request an appeal, by completing the form below:

Press & Reporters

ThamesFurs events are not public events. These events are private, and are only open to members of ThamesFurs.

Our events occur in differing locations, some of which are private property.

For events occuring on private property:
Should you wish to conduct any press or media related business (such as taking photos, conducting interviews, or similar) then prior permission must be obtained from ThamesFurs. This can be done by emailing press@thamesfurs.co.uk, and must be done at least 7 days before then event.

For events occuring on public property:
Although we have no legal power to prevent you from taking pictures or similar, we kindly request that you respect the privacy of our attendees, many of whom would be uncomfortable at being photographed, recorded, or interviewed. We advise our attendees not to engage with the media without prior discussion.

In cases where our attendees feel harassed or threatened (whether on public or private property), ThamesFurs will not hesitate to contact the authorities (such as the police, or venue security) as required.

If you have any further questions relating to any of the above, and/or you are contacting on behalf of a press or reporting organisation, please email press@thamesfurs.co.uk.
